For her dissertation, Christine is studying the effects of a combined educational and behavioral intervention on pain management practices in nurses that care for opioid dependent patients in hospital settings. Based on her review of the literature and practice experiences, she has determined that pain management practices in these nurses are ineffective due to faulty information about dependence and its’ treatment. Christine received her BS from St. Joseph’s College, her MS from Emmanuel College and currently practices as a perioperative unit educator at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Ma. Prior to her current position, she worked as a staff nurse at the same facility. Based on research completed at her place of employment, she has presented 6 interdisciplinary research studies at the National Association of Orthopedic Nurses Conference and The Association of Perianesthesia Nurses’ conference. She has also published her collaborative work in the Journal of Arthroplasty.
