Dissertation: Implementation of an electronic reminder in the EHR to increase provider compliance in prescribing statins to adults with lower extremity PAD. Adult patients with lower extremity peripheral artery disease are at risk for adverse cardiac events. Despite the guidelines, many of these patients are not on statin therapy. I am working with a partner on the capstone project and we will measure whether or not implementation of an electronic reminder in the EHR increases provider compliance to recommended guidelines for prescribing statin medications to this patient population.
