Jane Hopkins Walsh , MSN, PNPC, RNBoston College PhD
Jane Hopkins Walsh is a Spanish speaking Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with over 35 years of experience serving underserved populations, including Latino immigrant families at Boston Children’s Hospital Primary Care Center, and in Honduras, Central America, as a volunteer and board member with Cape CARES, Central American Relief Efforts. Jane is currently enrolled as a PhD student and full time Research Fellow at Boston College School of Nursing and is concentrating her doctoral work on alcohol abuse prevention research with emerging adult Latino immigrants, while pursuing a concurrent certificate in the Center for Human Rights and International Justice at Boston College. Jane has a passion for nursing, especially global health nursing, social justice, health promotion, disease prevention, and novel service delivery models. Her past work includes Migrant Health in Colorado, family focused, early intervention work with children born to drug and alcohol addicted, and incarcerated mothers, and volunteer work with homeless adolescents in Massachusetts. Jane is a clinical preceptor for PNP and FNP graduate nursing students at Boston Children’s Hospital and loves to teach and share her passion for nursing and social justice. She is currently a primary investigator on a global health grant, called Vamos Juntos, through Boston Children’s Hospital to pilot a model of shared care for children and adolescents needing complex health services in rural Honduras.
