Jonas Scholar Directory
I am currently a PhD nursing student at Columbia University’s School of Nursing. My research interests involve positive youth development in adolescents with chronic illnesses. I graduated with my BSN at Case Western Reserve University in Spring of 2017 and entered my PhD program direct-entry during Fall of 2017. I grew an interest for research early on in my nursing career and became a research assistant for a faculty member at my undergraduate institution. My primary investigator conducted research related to pediatric health, which was an area that I had a strong desire to contribute to in the future. To acquire skills and knowledge about my population of interest, I worked as a pediatric nursing assistant before graduating. Additionally, I applied for and was placed in a pediatric practicum rotation my senior year, which allowed me work 336 supervised hours on a pediatric cardiac step-down unit. My institution provided many other opportunities to learn about pediatric health, including community clinical rotations across Cleveland public schools. Outside of nursing, I volunteered as a tutor for high school students and served on the executive board for my university’s Asian American Alliance to work towards spreading diversity across campus. I currently work as a Research Assistant for one of my PhD mentors and am continuously working towards my goal of becoming a nurse researcher.
