Mary Eileen (Meg) Kloster , MSN, RNVillanova University PhD
Mary Eileen (Meg) Kloster is a doctoral student in the M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing at Villanova University. She earned her B.S. in Nursing at the University of Bridgeport and a Master’s in Nursing with a focus in Nursing Administration from Andrews University. Additionally, she received a Post Masters Certificate in Nursing Education, Lewis University. Meg has extensive experience in adult health nursing in acute care settings including six years in a dual role of clinical manager for cardiovascular ICU, cardiac testing, CCU and cardiac rehabilitation. She also is an assistant professor at Lewis University. Her research of the effect of indoor and outdoor air pollution on people with a history of cardiac disease is informed by her vast cardiovascular nursing experience from patient admission to the critical care unit to discharge to cardiac rehabilitation. Her dissertation work will be an educational intervention for patients who have experienced a cardiac event regarding the effect of indoor and outdoor air pollution on cardiac health and outcomes. She plans to graduate with a Ph.D. in nursing in May 2020. Meg has been awarded the Sigma Theta Tau, Epsilon Upsilon Chapter Research Grant, and the Donna DiPalma Cassidy Doctoral Nursing Scholarship. Her future goal is to continue teaching nursing; conduct research related to environmental health risks for cardiac patients, and advocate for those affected by poor air quality.
