Angie Powers, MS, RN, PMHNP-BC
Biography
Angie Powers is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who works here at West Roxbury in Primary Care Behavior Health. She began her career in the Army over 24 years ago, enlisting in 1993 as a Combat Medic and later becoming a Nurse after attending The Army’s Nursing Program at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Angie rose through the enlisted ranks to Sergeant First Class and served a number of years as a Drill Sergeant training new enlisted recruits at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. After becoming a commissioned officer in 2007, she commanded a Company instructing new cadets, at the US Military Academy at West Point, New York. Angie has multiple deployments that include support of Operational Iraqi Freedom and a Humanitarian deployment to El Salvador in support of Task Force New Hope. Captain Powers continues to serve in the Army Reserves as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at the Combat Stress Detachment of the 804th Medical Brigade here in Devens, MA.

Research/Clinical Practice Area: Jonas Veterans Healthcare Scholar – Psych-Mental Health
Dissertation: I have not yet started the Scholarly Project (Capstone) Sequence to have an anticipated title, but plan on studying the population of veterans in psyciatric mental health at the Boston VA.
