Anna Liza Fernandez, MSN, RN, CSSM, CHTS-IM
Biography
Ms. Anna Liza Fernandez serves as a Nurse Manger for the West Palm Beach Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Molded with 23 years of progressive nursing leadership track and excellent scholastic accomplishments – DNP at University of Miami (class 2017), MSN at Florida Atlantic University, VISN 8 CDL 2015 graduates, Lean Sigma Greenbelt, Board Certification in Healthcare Technology Specialist (CHTS), and Board Certification in Certification of Surgical Service Management (CSSM). This level of expertise has been shared with every community stakeholder as she actively participates in different professional organizations. She serves as expert consultant for the National Acquisition Office (NAO) on three major projects; subject matter expert for the VISN 8 Standardization of Annual Competency (OR, PACU) Project and the VISN 8 Nurse Executive Committee Training Taskforce for Nurse Leadership; and for the Competency Credentialing Institute (CCI) in building the exam question bank for the CSSM exam. Also, she currently functions as the President-Elect for the AORN Palm Beach Chapter. Awards received includes GEM Award 2016 Finalist, VISN 8 Quarter Supervisor 2015 Award, and Palm Health Care Nurse Award 2013 Finalist. As a nurse leader her vision is founded on searching for innovative ways to promote pro-active veterans-centered care through: * Execution of high-level performance * Flexibility and adaptability in implementing Performance Improvement process * Open communication and provision of work-life balance among health providers * Sincere patient compassion equated with delivery of quality and safe patient care * Collaborative teaming with staff, physician, and institution for synergy plans
