Biography

Beatrice Gaynor earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Delaware and a Master’s of Science in Nursing from Wilmington University. Ms. Gaynor is an ANCC-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She has worked clinically in geriatrics, critical care, family practice, and adolescent health and taught medical-surgical nursing and pharmacology at a community college. As a full time student pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Science degree at the University of Delaware, she was awarded the 2013-14 Virginia Lee Franklin Fellowship. Her research focus is health promotion of persons with Parkinson’s disease (PWPD) and their family caregivers. Ms. Gaynor is a research assistant for Dr. Ingrid Pretzer-Aboff; their interdisciplinary team is engaged in measuring and improving gait in PWPD and facilitating access for PWPD to Movement Disorder Specialists via telemedicine. Ms. Gaynor currently works as a Nurse Practitioner in the University of Delaware Nurse Managed Health Center (NMHC). In this role she supports research, education, and scholarship for faculty and students of multiple disciplines within the University. Clinical responsibilities include primary care, occupational health, urgent care, and medical clearance of potential research participants.
