Biography

Brian Locsin graduated, cum laude, with his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from William Paterson University of New Jersey. He is currently in his fourth year of the doctor of nursing practice program at the Hunter Bellevue School of Nursing. He is specializing in adult geriatric care. He is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Mr Locsin spent 3 years at the NYU Langone Medical Center working in a cardiology/step-down floor. Currently he is employed at a New York University outpatient primary care clinic in Manhattan, New York. He is the nurse manager at this office and is in charge of leading 10 medical assistants, and managing the patient work flow of over 200 patients/day. He chairs a quality improvement committee at his office. His clinical interests include telemedicine, especially utilizing such technology to increase access-to-care across the world. He has an interest in working with the under-served population and increasing their use of primary care services in order to decrease the burden of the health care system in our country. He has a passion for preventive care, and wants to create a quality improvement program that integrates diabetes preventive measures in the primary care setting. His drive to change the way healthcare is conducted in the world has sparked a new interest in healthcare policy.
