Brittany Gannoe, RN

University of Pittsburgh DNP
Biography

My name is Brittany M. Gannoe. I am currently enrolled in the DNP Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I completed my BSN at Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania in 2008 and have six years of RN experience working as both a staff nurse and charge nurse on an adult acute care inpatient behavioral health unit. From this experience I have had the opportunity to work with diverse populations and a broad spectrum of psychiatric diagnoses. In May of 2012 I presented at the Sixth Annual Maternal and Child Health Conference at Saint Vincent Health Center in Erie, Pennsylvania as a guest speaker on the topic “Depression in women with cardiac disease”. I have a strong interest in working with the veteran population and am currently in my second semester of completing clinical hours with the Erie VA Medical center in both the primary care and behavioral health settings. I would like to focus my research on post-deployment veteran adjustment issues including the emotional/ physical health, family, and occupational realms.
