Biography

Christina Recinos holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas, El Paso and a Master of Science in Nursing from California State University, Los Angeles. Christina is currently enrolled at Azusa Pacific University, pursuing a Ph.D in Nursing (Health of the Family and the Community). Christina has worked for Los Angeles Department of Health and Human Services where she provided nursing services for the Communicable Diseases Program, Tuberculosis Program, Blood Borne Pathogens Program, Immunizations Program throughout LA County (LAC+USC Medical Center, LA County Public Health Department, LA County Sheriff’s Department, and LA County Comprehensive Clinics). She has also worked for Clinica Msr. Oscar A Romero, a large Federally Qualified Health Center, which provided health care to the medically underserved, as the Medical Director and family nurse practitioner where she led the development of a county recognized women’s health program which successfully increased cervical cancer and breast cancer screening rates for the large Hispanic population of Pico Union and Boyle Heights. She currently works at the Veterans Health Administration, as an Associate Chief of Nursing Services and as a family nurse practitioner where she provides nursing leadership in five different counties, for approximatley 300 staff which serve over 91,000 patients. In addition to her work at the Veterans Health Administration she also works as an adjunct faculty member at California State University, Fullerton, in the School of Nursing.
