Eric O’Connor, RN

Quinnipiac University DNP
Biography

I am enrolled in the Doctorate of Nursing Practice program with a focus on adult-gerontology primary care. My specific areas of interest includes cardiovascular preventative care and transitional care. I received my Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Connecticut in 2007. While at UConn I was involved in many groups including community outreach. I also cofounded the UConn Relief Corps which aided disaster victims post Hurricane Katrina. I had the unique experience of traveling to Ecuador with this group to give aid to an impoverished community. These experiences triggered my interested in working with low income and high needs groups. I continued my education at Three Rivers Community College where I earned my degree in nursing. While at Three Rivers I earned the 2011 Class Nursing Award and remained active in my community. The majority of my experience has been working on medical/surgical units and in the emergency department. However, I have recently transitioned into homecare. This change has been a great fit for me, as my area of interest is transitional care.
