Erin Flaherty, MSN, FNP-BC
Biography
Erin Flaherty will be starting her second year in the PhD program at Boston College’s William F. Connell School of Nursing in the fall of 2016. She began her collegiate career at Boston College for undergraduate study. She was the Captain of the Varsity Rowing team and completed her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2010. She received a scholarship for her MSN through the United States Air Force Health Professions Scholarship Program, commissioning with the Air Force in 2011 and graduating again from Boston College in 2012. Erin served as a primary care provider in the Family Health Clinic at the 6th Medical Group, MacDill Air Force Base, FL from 2012-2015. With the Air Force, Erin was a Distinguished Graduate from Commissioned Officer Training School and held several leadership roles at the 6th Medical Group. She served as the Nurse Corps representative to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Team Chief of the Minimal Disaster Team, oversaw the Readiness Skills Verification Program for nurse practitioners, and promoted to Captain. She had the honor to be selected to the All Air Force Volleyball Team, and represented the Air Force at the Armed Services Tournament in 2015. Erin also received the Air Force Commendation Medal upon completing her military service. Back at Boston College, Erin is honored to have received a Jonas Nurse Leader Scholarship and to further serve the veteran and military population through nursing.
