Erin Lind, BSN

University of San Diego DNP
Biography

I am currently a second year DNP student at University of San Diego. Before graduate school I was an active duty Navy Nurse for four years stationed in both Guam and San Diego. My specialty is in emergency/trauma nursing. I am currently a Navy Reservist and serve as the Administrative officer for our unit and work in the Emergency Department at Naval Medical Center San Diego. This semester I was accepted into the Primary Medical Education (PRIME) program at the VA where I work in a family practice setting in the Veteran Healthcare System. It has truly been an honor to care for active duty and now the veteran population. As a nurse my passion is in both healing and educating patients on caring for themselves. Chronic pain has become an epidemic among both the active duty and veteran population. I believe that by empowering our active duty and veterans with knowledge about self-care and non-pharmacological alternatives to pain management, we will reduce the strain of their pain physically and psychologically. Ultimately, this will allow our veterans to live a healthy fulfilled life that they deserve.
