Biography

Dr. Jean Davis is a practicing family nurse practitioner and community/public health clinical nurse specialist. She also serves as faculty in the graduate program at University of Central Florida College of Nursing. Additionally, Dr. Davis studies physical activity habit formation and persistence. Her recent interventional project was a 10,000 steps physical activity program with 100 hospital nurses over a 3-month period that resulted in development of a strong habit of physical activity for participants who persisted through to completion. Dr. Davis completed her BS in nursing and master’s degree as a Community Health CNS at Rutgers University, a post-master’s FNP at Barry University including a primary care traineeship at the West Palm Beach (FL) VAMC, a Doctor of Education at Nova Southeastern University, a Doctor of Nursing Practice at Florida Atlantic University, and a PhD in Nursing at University of Central Florida. Research interests include physical activity habit formation and persistence to promote health.
