Fisak earned her graduate degree, with honors from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2004 and is currently attending Duke University, Doctor of Nursing Practice, Executive Leadership program. Her clinical focus is on well-mental health and prevention strategies. Fisak’s assignments includes the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery–Naval Center for Combat and Operational Stress Control, as Deputy Director where she championed Navy Medicines Caregiver Occupational Stress Control (CgOCS) program; Naval Health Clinic Hawaii, as Division Officer of Pediatrics and Family Practice clinics; two tours at Naval Medical Center San Diego, first in the inpatient surgical sub-specialty unit and later as the inpatient MH CNS and Department Head (DH), where she spearheaded and implemented the inpatient short-stay model and the unit’s renovation to enhance the therapeutic environment; Naval Hospital Okinawa as the inpatient MH DH and CNS, championed the Navy’s first CgOSC team; Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune as the MH inpatient DH, CNS, and outpatient Senior Nurse, she was the plank owner and champion of the hospital’s inpatient mental health unit renovation project. During this tour she deployed to Afghanistan as the Officer in Charge of Mobile Care Team-7. She led her team to provide real-time psychological well-being surveillance and provided preventive mental health care, and command consultation including care for the caregiver at static medical commands throughout the entire country. Fisak is currently serving as the Director for Nursing and Senior Nurse Executive, U.S. Naval Hospital Guam. She leads over 150 nurses and corpsmen in this 33-bed facility.
