Jennifer Prosser, CCRN
Biography
Major Jennifer Prosser is a current DNP student in the Family Nurse Practitioner program at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Originally from Buchanan, Michigan, she received a BS with a major in Public Health Education and Promotion from Central Michigan University and a BSN from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame. Major Prosser entered the United States Air Force in 2001 and has been stationed at Keesler Air Force Base (AFB), MS; Kadena AFB, Okinawa; Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England; and Andrews AFB, Washington, D.C. During her time in the Air Force she has worked in med-surg, critical care and flight nursing. In support of Operation Enduring Freedom, her deployments include two to Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan as a flight nurse and in the ICU, and one to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar as a member of a Critical Care Air Transport Team. Major Prosser has been recognized with the USAF Clinical Excellence in Nursing Award for the Air Force District of Washington and as the 18th Operations Group Combatant of the Year for contributions made while deployed as a flight nurse. She was also awarded an Air Force Institute of Technology scholarship to continue her nursing education at the Uniformed Services University. Her scholarly project will focus on sexual trauma in the U.S. Military. Other clinical practice interests include primary care in under-served communities and deployed settings.
