Biography

Jin Park is an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care DNP student at Columbia University interested in palliative care, Lean methodology, and eliminating healthcare disparities using novel intersections of healthcare models. She obtained her BSN from Ramapo College and her ADN from Bergen Community College. When she is not at school, she can be found at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital’s Cardiac ICU, where she is a night shift nurse. In addition to her clinical practice, she is currently working to standardize IV tubing across all 13 NYP campuses using Lean principles. Until recently, Jin was also serving as a volunteer leader with Young Life, a Christian mission organization dedicated to mentoring high schoolers by meeting them where they are. Whether she is at the local high school, corner cafĂ©, or at summer camp jumping into the lake with teenagers, Jin is passionate about making faith approachable and accessible to youth. She has found that intentional relationship building is the way to genuinely reach people in the setting of youth ministry, and also in patient care. She brings the same commitment to her critically ill patients as well as her doctoral education and believes that excellence in education and perseverance in care are keys to changing the patient experience – at any stage of illness and at every institutional setting – for the better.
