I am currently a student in the Doctor of Philosophy in nursing program at the University of Central Florida. My research focuses on education and transition to practice. More specifically, training nursing students to assess and treat clients with post-traumatic stress disorder while utilizing simulation in various forms. While studying for my Master of Science in Nursing, I was able to take part in simulation at the UCF STIM Center. There, I was able to observe firsthand the impact simulation makes on training nursing students for a variety of clinical experiences. I look forward to working with our Veterans to improve and enhance their healthcare experiences.
