I am currently enrolled in a Doctor of Nursing Program (DNP) at the University of Missouri-St. Louis; in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) track. I am interested in working as a PMHNP in an outpatient setting. Ideally, that outpatient setting would be a Department of Veterans Affairs clinic. I currently work in I enjoy the collective efforts of inpatient, but my post-graduate focus is outpatients who are struggling to stay afloat in life, who maintain full-time jobs, full-time families, and full-time lives. Other interests include but are not limited to working in palliative care in an inpatient setting, teaching undergraduate and graduate nursing students in an educational environment. My research interests include improving patient adherence to treatment recommendations for chronic medical diagnosis by addressing mental health. I would also like to be involved in research of ketamine infusions for acute depressive states in Adolescents. I attend yearly Advanced Practice Nursing conferences as well as attend two to three local conferences hosted by PESI. In my current clinical nursing practice, I serve on my hospital’s Ethics committee and have been. I work in the capacity of unit charge nurse when needed. I frequently precept new hires and nursing students, and student nurse interns.
