Case Western Reserve University PhD
Biography

I am a PhD student at Case Western Reserve University and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner at Cleveland Clinic Foundation where I work in the Surgical ICU. At the Cleveland Clinic I have worked on the Flight Team where I continue to collaborate and develop protocols. I obtained my masters degree from University of Michigan and bachelors from Syracuse University. I have worked as an RN in Michigan on a Cardio-Thoracic Surgical ICU and at Cleveland Clinic as NP in the Medical ICU. The majority of my clinical experience has been in the intensive care unit. I am interested in studying oxidative stress in the setting of hyperoxia and hypooxia. In the future I see myself working in the academic setting doing research and teaching nurses of the future while continuing to work part time as a clinician. The Jonas Leader Scholarship will provide me with skills to be a leader in research, teaching and the clinical setting in order to advance nursing practice.
