Biography

Mark’s experience ranges from acute care hospital settings to outpatient care settings with specialties in wellness, family practice, treating HIV and hepatitis, and aiding underserved populations. He also has experience in academics and education, most recently serving as nursing faculty at Las Vegas Nursing schools. He finished his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Nevada Las Vegas where he graduated Cum Laude and as a University Honors Scholar and earned his Master of Science in Nursing with a family nurse practitioner focus at Case Western Reserve University, one of the best and most pioneering nursing schools in the country. As a Family Nurse Practitioner Mark was able to help pass and garner support for autonomous APRN practice legislation in Nevada, serve in the Shared Leadership Advisory Council of CVS Minute Clinic (one of the largest employers of APRN’s in the US), join international medical missions, and serve as a preceptor to nurse practitioner students, medical students, and other beginning APRN’s in various community and work engagements. Mark believes in leading by example to influence his patients, so he makes sure to sustain a well-balanced diet and lifestyle, exercise regularly, and keep a positive outlook on life. He strongly believes in the value of disease prevention, health education, risk reduction, and wellness—both for himself and for his patients. Mark likes to empower his patients to take ownership of their health and to lead themselves to a path of better living.
