University of Missouri-Kansas City PhD
Biography

I am currently enrolled in the online PhD program at University of Missouri at Kansas City. My area of nursing research interest is moral distress in nursing. My background is primarily clinical with an interest in teaching and research for the past 10 years. I received my BSN and MSN from the University of Cincinnati in 1980, and 1988 respectively. I have been an Advanced Practice Nurse for the last 20 years and have served in a variety of leadership roles. I was instrumental in helping my institution achieve Magnet designation in 2012 by serving in a leadership position as the co-chair of the Nursing Research Council, and other positions. I have been the primary investigator on four nursing research studies, and have published and done poster and podium presentations nationally. My passion is teaching scientific inquiry to practicing nurses and students. I am pursuing my PhD in order to achieve that goal.
