University of California-San Francisco PhD
Biography

My name is Norlissa Cooper and I will be attending UCSF School of Nursing Doctoral program. I am interested in studying harm reduction strategies for the chronic alcoholic population. I received my BSN from the University of Rochester in 2008 and will be a candidate for my MSN (with emphasis in Nursing Education) from Georgetown University in Summer 2014. I have been a Registered Nurse for 6 years and currently work in Progressive Care. I’ve served as staff nurse, charge nurse, nurse educator, and most recently selected as the co-chair of the professional development council. In 2011, I was selected to participate in the UCSF Evidence-Based Practice Fellow Program (EBF). As a result of my participation in the EBF Program I had the opportunity to participate in the 2011 CalNoc Annual Conference and 2012 NDNQI Annual Conference as a poster presenter. In 2012 I was a recipient of the 2012 Dorothy Washington Scholarship.
