Biography

Rexi Thomas, MS, RN, FNP Rexi Thomas has over 15 years of clinical experience in neurosurgery, maternal-child health, and emergency nursing and over nine years in nursing education. She is committed to compassionate care to foster health and achieve wholeness. She is dedicated to community and strives to make a positive impact on society. Leading by example is one of her personal guiding principles as a nurse, as an educator, and as an individual. Education Rexi received her Associate in Applied Science in Nursing in 1998 from Rockland Community College. In 2002, she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Pace University. She graduated from Pace University’s, Master’s of Science, Family Nursing Practitioner program in 2003. Rexi is currently a Doctor of Nursing Practice student at Pace University. Experience Rexi’s clinical practice in the emergency department includes health promotion and disease prevention education with a predominantly Spanish speaking immigrant population, and encouraging these patients to seek continuity of care. As a nursing faculty member for baccalaureate students at Nyack College, New York, she incorporates teaching strategies to facilitate active learning. Rexi is creative in supporting students in critical thinking in the clinical arena and in lab simulations. Membership/ Awards Rexi is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International and the New York State Professional Nurses Association of Rockland County.
