Rosario v Sanchez obtained a Masters of Science in Nursing degree with a concentration in Forensic Nursing from Monmouth University. After completing her degree, she practiced forensic nursing as a certified sexual assault examiner for the sexual assault response teams (SART) in Essex and Monmouth county in New Jersey. She served as a staff and preceptor for new staff. Ms. Sanchez also held an Assistant Coordinator position for the SART in Monmouth county and a sexual assault nurse examiner program educator at Monmouth University. Ms. Sanchez is currently enrolled in the PhD in Nursing program at Rutgers University after transferring from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is committed to becoming a leader in her field and pursuing a career in both research and academia on completion of the doctoral degree. Her career and research goal is to look at the different systems of service that encounter human trafficking victims and identify the gaps to provide an innovative research based methodology relevant to this vulnerable population and change health policies regarding the care and identification of human trafficking victims. Ms. Sanchez program of research denotes the importance of the spectrum of trauma of the adolescent victims’ lived experiences of human trafficking to explore the victims’ spectrum of victimization and promote evidence-based trauma informed care principles.
