Biography
I am a Nurse practitioner currently specializing in colorectal surgery. I treat patients with a variety of diagnoses including: Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, colon cancer, rectal cancer and anal cancer. I currently attending Stony Brook University to obtain my DNP degree. While i have many interests, I am very interested in how environmental factors, such as water contamination, on the incidence of colon cancer. Other interests include wound, ostomy and continence and ways to improve patient outcomes. I earned my BS in Nursing from Long Island University with the honor designation of magna cum laude and a MS in Adult Gerontology Primary Care NP at Adelphi University. Previously worked in ICU, cardiac step-down, ICU step-down and PACU. Prior to becoming a RN, I was a clinical microbiologist for 10 years.
