Biography

I am from Vancouver, WA., where I still reside with my incredible husband and two beastie pups. I have been immersed in healthcare since 2008 and have held various roles, including CNA, EMT, RN, Flight and Operational Medical Technician, and of course, student. I received my first degree, BS in Psychology, from Washington State University and my Associates in Applied Nursing from the Community College of the Air Force. I am currently a family nurse practitioner student at Oregon Health & Science University, where I previously earned my BSN as well. I am also still working as a Clinical Nurse for the Oregon Air National Guard, ensuring medical readiness for the Portland Air National Guard Base. Being a military woman in the Air Force I have held a number of leadership roles including NCOIC of Clinical Staff, Lead Orienteer and Trainer, and Nurse in Charge at an Oregon Outdoor School campus, among others. For my doctoral work I will be evaluating how family nurse practitioners can impact veteran mental health in a way that promotes high quality, sustainable, lifestyles. I am extremely dedicated to advocating for and enhancing veteran mental healthcare and overall wellbeing.
