Biography

Major Jones is an active duty Air Force Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, wife, and mother of three (2 daughters and a son). A graduate of the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS). Her research and clinical practice interests are focused on reducing mental health stigma through education and contact-based reduction programs through evaluating program efficacy and their impact across the spectrum of mental health illness. As a career Airman, she served as an enlisted Technical Sergeant and healthcare management specialist before obtaining her BSN and commissioning as a Second Lieutenant in the Air Force Nurse Corp. Her robust nursing experience includes Medical-Surgical, Case management, Emergency Room, Aeromedical Evacuation, and Critical Care nursing. Her interests also include policy and advocacy efforts in advancing the full scope of nursing practice to ensure all patients have access to adequate healthcare.
