Yalda Rahimi, RN

Biography

Yalda Rahimi has been working in health care since her arrival in the United States in 1997. She pursued several degrees while working full-time: Bachelor’s in Biology, Master’s in Health Administration, a second Bachelor’s in Nursing, and currently a doctoral degree in Nursing. She decided for a clinical degree to enhance her understanding of our complex health care environment and to become a more effective and impactful professional and leader. Her health administration experience spans a decade while her nursing experience spans almost eight during which she worked on several projects while working as a critical care nurse. She has been working with the VA since 2009-first clinically then in a research and quality improvement capacity as a fellow. Yalda’s dissertation revolves around understanding stakeholders’ beliefs, barriers, and facilitators to pressure ulcer prevention in the critical care unit as well as technology implementation in high-tech environments. She is also working on a pressure ulcer related project with the VA currently. Furthermore, Yalda is interested in women’s health and hence has joined the Women’s Health PACT with the VA to learn about implementation and evaluation of this important program.
