Jonas Announces Oakland’s Youth Friendly Business Award

What: Oakland’s First Youth Friendly Business Award- a chance to recognize Oakland’s most generous businesses and workers who provide youth with workplace mentoring. The Jonas Family Fund will be presenting cash awards and honorary recognition certificates at an Awards Ceremony this April. Three cash awards will be granted- two for businesses that demonstrate a deep commitment to youth internships (one small and one large business), another will be given to a work mentor who is deemed exceptionally helpful by his or her mentee/s. All verified nominees will be listed in the Oakland Youth Friendly Business Directory. They will receive a window sticker deeming their worksite a youth friendly business and they will receive significant recognition from local and national press outlets.

When: Individuals can start nominating today. Visit: www.oaklandyouthfriendlybusinessawards.com for a nomination form. Nominations will be accepted through May 15th. Winners will be selected based on the number and substance of nominations and chosen by an impartial selection committee.
