Jonas Philanthropies Announces the 2018-2020 Jonas Scholar Alumni Advisory Council

NEW YORK (November 13, 2018) – Jonas Philanthropies today announced 10 esteemed alumni of the Jonas Scholars program selected to serve on the 2018-2020 Jonas Scholars Alumni Advisory Council. As the Jonas Scholars Alumni group continues to grow, the Council acts as a bridge between present and past Scholars to continue advancing their professional development, networking, and leadership skills, as well as fostering a strong connection among the nationwide Scholar network.

 

The new group consists of five graduates from a PhD program, three graduates from a DNP program and two current PhD students. These individuals were selected from a pool of applicants and will formally begin their two-year terms this fall:

“We’re proud to see a strong group of Jonas Nurse and Veteran Scholars representing research, clinical practice and veteran’s health come together to serve on the Alumni Advisory Council for the 2018 to 2020 term,” said Donald Jonas, president of Jonas Philanthropies. The new members will advance the work of the previous Council, strengthening the collaboration and connections of more than 1,200 Scholar Alumni across the country.  “After more than ten years of advancing nursing through scholarship, leadership and innovation, we are thrilled to work with such an engaged group of nurse leaders who will help us continue to advance nursing’s impact on America’s healthcare system via research, clinical practice and informing health policy,” said Jonas Nursing and Veterans Healthcare Executive Director Dr. Wanda Montalvo.
