Jonas Scholar May Uchida, MSN, GNP-BC Recieves TIRAR Pre-Doctoral Fellowship

Congratulations to May Uchida, MSN, GNP-BC, for receiving the 2011-2012 TIRAR (Training in Interdisciplinary Research on Antimicrobial Resistance) pre-doctoral fellowship. May, a Jonas Scholar attending Columbia University, will build interdisciplinary research skills which will help strengthen her dissertation that examines policy changes in infection prevention for long-term care settings.

The TIRAR training grant prepares pre- and post-doctoral scholars for participation and leadership in interdisciplinary research to reduce antimicrobial resistance by creating an interdisciplinary research curriculum; developing CIRAR pre- and postdoctoral training programs; implementing a faculty training program in interdisciplinary research; and developing and maintaining programmatic self-evaluation and revision mechanisms.
