Alicia Swartz, RN, PNP

Biography

Alicia Swartz is a third year doctoral student in the School of Nursing at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She also holds a masters degree in Nursing from Columbia University in New York, and is a practicing Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in East Oakland, California. Her research interest, mainly derived from her clinical practice, includes environmental exposures related to the development of pediatric asthma, and early childhood environmental exposures in child care. She has presented her work in several academic conferences including the American Public Health Association annual conference, and the Translational Science annual conference. During the 2014-2015 academic year Alicia was awarded a yearlong research fellowship grant funding from the Clinical and Translational Science Institution at UCSF to conduct independent research in her area of interest and to receive course training in epidemiology and biostatistics. She is currently preparing to begin the dissertation phase of her doctoral training.
