Christine Horvat Davey, BSPS, BSN, RN
Biography
Christine Horvat Davey received her BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Nursing from The University of Toledo. As a NRSA Predoctoral Fellow at Case Western Reserve University she is currently pursuing her PhD in Nursing. Her clinical interests include self-management in individuals with end stage renal disease. She is a Graduate Student Research Associate working in a lab focused on self-management in individuals with HIV. Clinically, she worked for the Cleveland Clinic as an intensive care unit nurse for over five years, where she served as a charge nurse and mentor to new graduate nurses. Additionally she served as a critical care clinical instructor for three years. Christine serves as the PhD representative for the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing Strategic Planning Committee. She is active in her community. Christine sits on several community boards and is involved with multiple charitable organizations including the Lorain County Free Clinic. She is a 2010 recipient of the Sigma Theta Tau, Zeta Theta Chapter Leadership Award. After Christine completes her PhD, she plans to pursue a position as a nurse scientist in an academic setting.
