Columbia University DNP
Biography

Daniel Billings is a professional opera singer with a master’s degree from The Juilliard School and a bachelor’s of music from Boston University. A friend’s passing from a form of non-Hodgkins lymphoma inspired him to pursue nursing with an oncology focus. Daniel has volunteered for hospice care and looks forward to using the collaborative skills he acquired performing in orchestra concerts and opera productions when he works with members of a health care team. He earned his BSN at Columbia University School of Nursing and is currently pursuing his Doctor in Nursing Practice (DNP), with a specialty in Primary Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, sub-specializing in Oncology. In 2016, Daniel received the Bill Campbell Award at Columbia University for his Leadership. Daniel serves as a Peer Leader for the Peer Mentorship program, where he participates in mentoring and training nursing students at Columbia to become influential leaders. He is married to an Emergency Department nurse, and they have a three-year-old son together.
