Denise Bouchard, MS, RN, FNP-C

University of Southern Maine DNP
Biography

Denise Bouchard has worked as a family nurse practitioner since 2000. Eight of those years were focused in addiction recovery. Upon re-engaging in family practice, she noticed a gaping hole in the recognition and subsequent treatment of addiction. Back to school to pursue her DNP, she seeks to bridge this gap by reducing stigma, increasing provider knowledge, and access to treatment for individuals and families who suffer from this chronic treatable brain disease. Always looking for ways to support this endeavor, she’s versed in Motivational Interviewing and regularly practices Non-Violent Communication. She trusts that skills acquired while pursuing the DNP will serve her vision to contribute to facilitation of trans-disciplinary addiction care.
