I am CPT Elizabeth Poindexter, a Family Nurse Practitioner, Doctorate of Nursing Practice Student at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. I am a U.S. Army Nurse Corps Officer, and I am proud and honored to be continuing my education to better serve my fellow military members, their families, and our retired veterans. Previous to USUHS, I have served as a registered nurse in the Army for seven years, in a variety of staff nurse positions and in a one year position as a company executive officer in a Combat Support Hospital. I have been stationed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, 212th Combat Support Hospital in Germany, and Fort Belvoir Community Hospital. I am thankful for my experiences thus far in military healthcare and look forward to the opportunity to be a Jonas Scholar.
