Ella Archibald, FNP, MS

Pace University DNP
Biography

I grew up in the family of healthcare professionals. Since childhood I was mesmerized by their dedication to make a difference in people’s lives. It has been the most meaningful and important profession for me. During my student years and career I have taken pride and enjoyment in learning more and working harder than others. Despite this sense of ambition, I am always compassionate with my patients and my coworkers. During my eight years of experience working as a medical doctor in Ukraine, I was fortunate to excel in my career and obtain a position as Vice President of the Regional Cherkassy Hospital. Besides seeing patients in the hospital, I provided field consultations to poor and marginalized population in distant areas of the region. During 1998-2000 I worked on a dissertation and conducted a research study on occupational disease occurrence in Cherkassy chemical factory. I changed my life and career by emigrating to the United States in 2000. Working in Lenox Hill Hospital for 10 years gave me invaluable experience of the advanced American health care system. From my experience, I believe that a multi sector approach with collaboration of different services makes tremendous difference in nursing. I use this approach in my daily practice. The DNP program, through conducting research and teaching, further enhanced my skills and ability to address the most important aspects of my patients’ lives.
