Currently enrolled as a junior in the BSN-DNP nurse anesthesia track at the University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies. I completed my Associate of Arts in Nursing at Miami-Dade College in 2007, followed by my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Miami in 2009. Previously employed as a registered nurse by the University of Miami Hospital, where I? worked three years in the Telemetry Unit and five years in the Cardiac Care Unit serving a multicultural population facing numerous health disparities. Received my Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification and worked an additional year at Broward General Hospital as a cardiac intensive care unit nurse. In this DNP program, I? plan on assessing the abuse of opioids among the veteran population following surgery, which aligns with the community- based care goal of the Jonas scholarship.
