Loyola University New Orleans DNP
Biography

Nursing is a second career for me. I received a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Denver in Colorado. I worked for a few years as a microbiologist and a pediatric clinical research assistant. Working with children as a research assistant allowed me to discover my true calling, nursing. I retuned to school and earned my BSN from Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin. There, I served as a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. After graduating I moved to the Pacific Northwest. My nursing career includes experiences on an inpatient stroke unit, acute care, home health, and pediatrics. I have experience being a part of a quality control team on a medical-surgical unit in which our goal was to improve nursing care and patient outcomes. I currently work at Shriners Hospitals for Children providing both inpatient and outpatient nursing care. Additionally, I serve as a volunteer nurse at a pediatric community clinic. My clinical interests include pediatrics, women’s health, and asthma and allergy. As a future nurse practitioner, I hope to continue to provide high quality care for underserved populations.
