Currently enrolled in PhD in Nursing program at UT-Knoxville with anticipated graduation date of 2016. Clinical experience includes 7 years inpatient cardiac care as BSN, 7 years outpatient care in Internal Medicine as FNP, and then 5 years in specialty practice outpatient cardiology as FNP. For the past 2 years I have been full time faculty in BSN program at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tn and additionally teach online in the MSN/FNP program. Currently I chair the Faculty and Student Relations Committee at my College of Nursing and am the current treasurer of Sigma Theta Tau-Iota Beta Chapter. I am an associate member of the American College of Cardiology. I am interested in leadership and health policy especially in relation to public awareness of disease processes and access to care. I live in rural Appalachia and hope to serve these people through educational and public health access programs–the aged cardiac population are the most interesting to me.
