Dissertation: DNP scholarly project, “Supplement Use and Patient Education About Supplements In Primary Care,” will focus on what types of herbal supplements and vitamins are used by patients and develop patient education about the supplements. The purpose of the project is to determine the common supplements used by patients in a primary care clinic; determine the patients’ perceived benefits of the supplements; develop a reference for providers providing the indication, possible side effects, and medication interactions of the supplements; and develop patient education about the supplements. Patient education would include the possible benefits of the supplement, side effects, and medication interactions.
