Kelsey is attending Quinnipiac University for her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree as an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. In her first year of the program she researched post-traumatic stress disorder and the subsequent development of comorbidities in U.S. veterans. Kelsey has a personal interest in veterans’ health care due to both her father and grandfather serving in the United States Armed Forces. She obtained her diploma in nursing from St. Joseph School of Nursing and also has a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Charter Oak State College. She has been in health care for the past eight years. During part of this time, Kelsey worked with veterans in both long-term care and home care. She also was an active member of her student government. Upon graduation she plans on becoming a primary care provider for our nation’s veterans.
