Lisa Sundean received her BSN from Western Connecticut State University followed by her MSN and Masters in Health Administration from University of Phoenix. Her clinical background is in neonatal intensive care. She has served on the board of directors of a local children’s hospital in Connecticut focusing on organizational strategic planning, leading fundraising efforts, and currently sits on the Board Quality Improvement Committee. Ms. Sundean is secretary of the Board for YWCA Hartford Region and co-chairs the Development Committee. She is employed by the Connecticut Nursing Collaborative-Action Coalition focusing on development and communications to implement the recommendations of the Institute of Medicine report, The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health. In addition to membership in several nursing associations, Ms. Sundean is a charter member of Sigma Theta Tau International Kappa Alpha chapter, having served as the steering committee chair for the establishment of the chapter. She is currently enrolled in the PhD program at the School of Nursing at University of Connecticut. Her research will focus on nurses on health care boards.
