Michelle Chan is currently pursuing her doctoral degree from the University of California, Irvine. Her research interests include stress, cardiovascular disease, genetics, and health technology. Michelle’s proposed research involves examining the influences of health technology on self-management and health literacy in people with chronic illnesses. Michelle completed her undergraduate degree in nursing at UC Irvine where she researched the associations between stress, genetics, social environment, physical health, and mental health, which initiated her interest in pursuing graduate studies. After graduation, she volunteered for the Community Emergency Response Team and as an instructional assistant for UC Irvine. Aside from research and community work, Michelle currently serves on the Associated Graduate Students council at UC Irvine.
