Monika Cintulova, BSN, RN is a graduate student at University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies currently pursuing her PhD in Nursing. Monika graduated with highest honors from Miami Dade College School of Nursing where she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and BSN Honor Society. As an undergraduate student and the recipient of a Florida Blue Foundation Scholarship Monika worked as a Research Assistant at University of Miami under the mentorship of senior nursing faculty scientists associated with UM SONHS Center of Excellence for Health Disparities: El Centro. Throughout this summer research experience she assisted with analysis of qualitative and quantitative data that was gathered as part of research project funded by Aqua Foundation for Women and focused on South Florida transgender women’s satisfaction with healthcare. Monika presented the preliminary findings at the Nursing Consortium in September 2015. Monika currently works as a Registered Nurse at Larkin Community Hospital in South Miami and also finds time for community service for which she was recently presented with the President’s Volunteer Service award.
