Paula Bellino, CRNA

Florida International University DNP
Biography

I am currently a DNP student in the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences at Florida International University with interests in anesthesia and addiction. Currently I volunteer with inpatient women in a treatment facility for addiction as well as do anesthesia at a local hospital in Tampa, FL. As a CRNA, I have owned and operated multiple anesthesia companies in the past. I am currently volunteering with two organizations working with children in a middle school setting raising awareness in character traits. In 1992, I received my BSN from the University of Florida and in 1997, I received my MS in Nurse Anesthesia from UCLA. I have worked in the VA system and have found these jobs highly rewarding and educational. Working with veterans gives me a sense of gratitude in giving back a little of what is so freely given to me on a daily basis, …freedom. I feel indebted to the service so many of our men and women have given and continue to give to this country. My current goals in furthering my education is to become a leader in the nursing field in implementing and structuring education to health care providers about the disease of addiction and to help my current health care community realize the importance of prevention and awareness to this disease. I am hoping for an opportunity to work within the VA system again and look forward to rewarding and challenging opportunities my DNP degree will bring.
