Biography

Dr. Pozzar is an American Cancer Society postdoctoral research fellow and a Society for Medical Decision Making fellow in medical decision making at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Her research is focused on the relationships between patient-provider communication and ovarian cancer care quality, ovarian cancer treatment decision making, and quality of life among individuals with ovarian cancer. Dr. Pozzar received her PhD from Northeastern University, where she was inducted into the Huntington 100 in 2019. As a doctoral student, she was named a Jonas Nurse Leader Scholar and was the recipient of the American Cancer Society Doctoral Degree Scholarship in Cancer Nursing. Dr. Pozzar’s doctoral research focused on patient perceptions of the ovarian cancer care process. Her dissertation highlighted the role of psychosocial factors in ovarian cancer care decisions. Dr. Pozzar completed her MSN with a specialization in family and community health nursing at Boston College and her BSN at the University of Massachusetts Boston.
