Biography

I currently teach at Regis University. My primary classes are community health, health promotion, and leadership. I am responsible for developing curriculum, instructing students, providing clinical oversight and evaluation. I serve on the Quality Evaluation Committee, and chair the diversity task force for Rueckert Hartman College of Health Professions. I serve on the program committee for the National Black Nurses Association (NBNA), and am currently working on a ANF sponsored grant with NBNA which is addressing minority nurse student issues including mentoring needs. I am the immediate past president of the local chapter of NBNA, and currently serve as the historian. I am also working with the Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence, we are in the process of developing a formal mentoring program for minority students enrolled in AD-BSN programs. This will serve as my project for the Jonas Scholars program. I received my MS in Nursing Leadership with a focus on education in 2011 and am a first year doctoral student at Saint Louis University, emphasis is nurse education. I am interested in older adult sexuality and minority nursing issues.
